Borno Celebrate 2021 International World Womens Day
Borno FirstLady who doubles as founder of Multi Aid and Charity Initiative MACI attended an interactive session on WOMEN LEADERSHIP: themed "Achieving an equal future in a COVID 19 world".
The event which took place at the Multipurpose hall of the Government house maiduguri was graced by women stakeholders, appointees of the government, politicians and various other women groups.
The interactive session was held by panelist who cut across various humanitarian organizations, women and girl child rights activist groups. The importance of the role of women in the development of a society and the effect of the COVID 19 pandemic on the women activities in the Country.
Partners which include Save the children, USAID, UN Women, MACI International Medical corps,UNHCR and UNFPA were all represented.
In her remarks Her Excellency Dr. Falmata Babagana Umara Zulum reiterated the various roles of women in the development of the society, she further called for unity amongst all women.
The first lady distributed empowerment kits to vulnerable women. Her Excellency also called on the beneficiaries to utilize the skill acquisition tools to benefit the society not to sell for personal problems. She adviced the women to seek administrative seats to enable more policy and decision making in favour of women.
